I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to not only read this blog, but leave a comment.  I’m touched because I know that each of you are very busy.  All of your kinds words on here are motivating me to keep writing – and running!

Tonight we did our maintenance run on Monday (tomorrow night I volunteered to help out at the marathon office for a few hours.  I don’t know what came over me) .  It was fine:  a little bit cold, but thankfully no rain.  I felt good after the run.

Two observations:  1.)  There are a lot of other runners out and about after work in this City, and a small number of them will smile or nod as we run by them, which is nice, like we’re all in a cool club (truth be told I thought more would do so); 2.)  Guys look hotter in running gear in the same way they do in suits.  You know, like 3/4 of all guys in suits seem hot but really you wouldn’t look twice at 2/3 of those 3/4 if they were wearing jeans.

We ate a big dinner tonight (some of us bigger than others – 1/4 of a cow!) and then made brownies.  I am really finding that I’m hungry more and eating more, even on days when I’m not running.

Today  at work (during a break, of course) I found this article about the upcoming LA Marathon.  It contains tips from experienced runners:

These runners are obviously more hardcore than I’ll ever be, at least for this training, but there’s some good information here.  One woman always gets a message the week before she runs.  I read that and I was like “Yes!  Now we’re talking about the type of training I can get into.”
